I am Baba

Long time no post! Last one was last year man... MIssed gym today after a late MJ session. Another one tonight @ celine's. It has become quite a Sat nite ritual for me already. Sigh.. Tomorrow is another 'Casino Royale' @ Kok's. Is the lunar Chinese New Year a date on the calender for us to get together and gamble?!

Gotta really play my cards well this year... Went to visit 3 temples and gave offerings on the 1st Day of the lunar new year. One in Loyang, Middle Road and Balestier. Mum lamented that the 'Ram' won't be doing so well this year. Weak wealth, health and love. She said I have offended 'Taisui'. But WHAT DID I DO?!

Smoke gets in your eyes

Drove my mother to aunt place. Boy ALWAYS like the captain seat. So this time he drove and I watched. But alas, he fell asleep.

Kok's Stag night last weekend. We went Thai @ Golden Mile and then to Movida @ St. James. Was great fun! Plenty of booze and dance.

Celebrated my 29th birthday in advance just yesterday. Lovely cake from Canele and polo tee from Lacoste. Thanks guys. Love it ;-)

Still in a crazy nyonya mood! LOL! Yes I was religiously catching The Little Nyonya weeks ago when it was still on TV. In my opinion, BEST drama serial in SBC/TCS/Mediacorp history. The controversial script, the nyonya food and culture portrayed, the opening song and the little nyonya herself Jeanette Aw, made this serial a very memorable one. Planning to drive up Malacca week after next with the guys. Can't wait!

Wet sunday arvo..

Officially in the waiting game last week. With about 80 of them in front of me, think I'm gonna have A LOT of free time. MJ anyone?
Talking about MJ, lost last night! I tio bao one game and ended up having to pay $150 just for that round. Badshape! I threw a 'sai' and didn't know Celine had already 3 doubles. The blessed tile gave her five (she was double 'sai'). That round ended with her 'gang shang zi mo'! Almost fainted! LOL! Have been winning quite a bit from them so it was like returning a fraction back ;-)

I've dedicated next week to get presents. Xmas is round the corner! Next Friday is a gathering @Clearwater. The usual Xmas gift exchange party with the boys. Oh and doing my friend a uber big favor by playing her spouse @ this event/talk. Don't know what will happen but at least I get a free dinner. LOL!

Looking through my iTunes and was amazed by the number of songs I have. Then there's this particular singer who caught my eye. Ms Janet Jackson! I've most all her album and I am not intending to stop buying.
Shall feature her last four albums.

All For You! This same titled song caught my attention, together with a few others. Her abs are superb! 'Would You Mind' is a super explicit track. You'll get it if you listen to it.

Damita Jo! That's her middle name. Great album released in 2004. In my humble opinion, better than the previous. My fav from this album is 'I Want You' (written by Kanye West). My fav dance routine would be 'All Nite'. This album took her 18 months to make (6 months average). Totally worth the wait.

20YO was released in 2006. First song I heard and tried rapping to was 'Call On Me', Feat Nelly. My fav track 'Take Care'. This track is very 'China Love' but totally in a league of its own. You can listen to it while making love or if you have problems sleeping! My fav dance routine would be 'So Excited'. AWESOME! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8_RzUP7kKk

Discipline! I personally think this cover is very tastefully done ( Yes ChuanDo did it). This album is a little S&M. The current 'Rock Witchu 08' in Oakland, features her with another male from the audience in a raunchy S&M session on stage! Kinky ok..
My fav track 'Can't Be Good'. Super duper underrated track! Not sure why they don't single it. PLEASE go check it out. Best track to have on the road, in the bedroom, everywhere!

Hope she tours Asia..

Too Much Weights!

Arrgghh, got myself a sore shoulder from today's workout. Damn... But I did not work my shoulders at all today! So it must have been yesterday's then (shoulders, chest and triceps).

Met up with first officer Nelson Wong of Silkair last week. Looks like his tummy is getting bigger leh! LOL! Told myself I'll always look out for my waistline. He treated me to a great lunch @ TCC T3. Nice posh and quiet outlet.
Last weekend was full of babbling with friends. Saturday met up with Shawn, Elaine, Seewee and Nura @ P.S Cafe. It was Seewee's belated birthday celebration. Dempsey is no longer like what it used to be. It is a lot commercialized now. Sigh, what happened to the quiet enclave in town that little people knew. Looking on the bright side, we now have more choices!
Sunday was spent with the boys @ Clearwater. Had a BBQ by the pool and of course the usual drinks. Been some time since the boys got together as a batch. It was a combined birthday celebration for Husain, Leroy and Nicky. No one was spared that night as we made sure everyone was wet!

Have been keeping up with the runs lately. The marathon in december is inching closer day by day. I'll definitely finish it, but I'll like to have a good timing. Still thinking about the days when I was in the navy. I was a lot lighter then (63kg) and I could finish the run like a walk in the park with good timing (sub 3:30hr)! Now age is catching up plus I'm like 70kg now. LOL!

Am so looking forward to this coming weekend! I rented a space @ the former Big Splash compound to sell 2nd hand clothings. Anthony will be joining me on Saturday and Ian and Carol on Sunday. My only concern now is whether there'll be a crowd there or not. Was skeptical about the Car Boot Sale concept (selling stuff from your car), but opted for the flea market option instead. Heard bad feedback from Carol saying that the Car Boot Sale will be in the blazing heat (saw the compound myself the other day) which is not conducive at all! For those who are interested, visit http://www.sgcarbootsale.com
Yawns, will write again peeps.

The Reunion!

LOL.... Guess what, I planned a get-together with the boys and gals from batch 793/94! So looking forward to it lah. It seemed like decades ago man. To be honest, I can hardly remember all of their names leh. People say training days were the best and I can't agree more. Though I no longer fly anymore, pleasant memories linger on. Some of us no longer fly anymore, some are married and have babies and of course the rest are still soaring the friendly skies (well not always friendly). I have some old training days pictures but they are on my old desktop which died like 10 years ago. Going to seek help from the grandmaster of IT, dear 'Ah Pek' for help.

This one was taken with my ex-team IFS Pauline and a current IFS Abdullah. Pauline got her CIC damn early and she's still young! The blazer for the guys are now uniform in color, which is black. The differentiation of the ranks is by the number of wrinkles on your face and also by the color of your tie (it complements the color of the kebaya).

This one was taken at the end of my last long team flight. Still remember it was a SQ030 (TPE/LAX). Had a blast man! Rented car and drove all over LAX with 3 of the chio bus. The rides at Magic mountain were awesome!

My last flight was a standby called-up, a CGK turn. Nothing to be proud of ;-) Coming down from that last flight, I bid goodbye to the ovens, my oven gloves, the perculators the infamous SS tray! Wahaha... *Roars

Weiii... For those who thinks it is a lousy job, I beg to differ leh. It is an excellent job and I have no qualms about encouraging anyone to pursue a career as a steward/stewardess. Ok firstly, pay is good (by good I mean sufficient). Secondly, It allows you to travel the world and meet all sorts of people (colleagues and passengers alike). Tell me, how many companies put its employees in world class 5 star hotels? Last but not least, the off days are a plentiful! While your friends are doing a 9 to 5 job, 5 days a week, you are having high tea at Marriot Orchard on a monday afternoon! Trust me this job has more pros than cons.

Oh wait, Hugo's a.k.a Lou-ye's girlfriend just got a call from them, for an interview this Wednesday. All the best Debs.

Sunday will be another day of funs!! The boys from 121 are having our very own reunion @ Clearwater. Lots of BBQ and booze. Can die..

The revival

After months of dormancy, I have decided to start blogging again! Hehe.. Yeah it has been about 1 year since I last updated. Things are back to normal here in Singapore. Spent most of my time overseas for training during the past two years. Will start posting pics in the future blogs. Kinda miss being in Singapore. Which is why I have been indulging in the very 'local' stuff these days. I hung out at a kopithiam near my block this morning reading sunday times over a cup of kopi! Wahaha, for a moment or two I felt very ah pek. And then all of a sudden, this bloody auntie just a table away gave a loud shriek while trying to feed a baby in a pram (I think the rebellious baby spat the food she was trying to feed) I obviously gave her the look of dismay lah! So rude. Was trying to concentrate on 'lifestyle' ok! But then again, this is what makes the whole kopithiam experience so unique. I bet you won't get this in the 'atas' restaurants.
Came back and gave Ah boy a good wash. Was amazed at the amount of fur he was losing. Mom found a picture we took of him when he was about 2-3yrs. He had black nose leh! Now his nose is like a little pinkish at the tip. We both agreed is age lah.
Dropping a quick line and then off to meet the poly gang at Safra. Rahman is back from Qatar for Raya and we are gathering at Ah Kok's place in Edgedale for some food and F1 live on TV later in the evening. Will post some pics lah. Until then..

Race of the raging bulls

04th of Nov marked the annual Red Bull Air Race in Perth. Swan river was thronged with heaps and heaps of peeps. We were baked and roasted under Perth's summer heat. As of every race, they had a runway strip and tower built. We camped near Mills Point and eventually moved closer to where the grand stand was. There we had a better view of aircrafts coming in at speeds up to 400km/hr. Most of the guys managed to average in about 1min17s. The French with Russian name champ came in at about 1min15s. For a more detailed coverage, log on to ah pek's blog at www.hoongji.blogspot.com

My vivid recollections

What's news?
Did my Albany nav with the rest of the guys the other day and it was hella fuN! About 360km down south, Albany was overcast and grrrrr... chilly. We brought food and drinks and had a little brunch in the airport terminal. The pictures says it all. Mind you, we DID NOT formation fly but came in at regular intervals ok! The CTAF frequency that day was filled with weird and funny noises. A blessing it was a saturday!
